Anyway, thank you for taking the time to post all your questions. I'll do my best to answer them

1.please make easer button or allow 'your brushes' to bind sortcut key

It's already the case, but to do so, you have to give a name to your brush. (Right click on your brush > Edit > write a name > OK)
Once the brush is named, you can define a hotkey in Edit menu > Preferences > Configure keyboard

Eventually, we could maybe automatically give a name to a custom brush just grabbed, that would make that step easier.
(But I don't know if it's possible, only developpers could answer).

I use what change airbrush to easer unavoidably

It is really uncomfortable I think many people agree this point

I don't think so, because most users save a custom brush to erase and another one to draw. They assign a hotkey on both and switch quickly between both brushes.

TVPaint is not an intrusive software. If you change the drawing mode from "color" to "erase", yes, you would like a bigger eraser when you simply draw. But what if you are painting and just want to erase a little part of your painting ?

You see, the eraser may behave completely differently, following the way you want to use it. So, we can't "force" the erase mode to increase the brush's size.

That's not really a good idea, because TVPaint Animation and Adobe products does not have the same tools and the same way to work (for example : no drawing modes in Photoshop, just 1 brush and 1 eraser). Some hotkeys have been changed to correspond to Adobe's one (like [CTRL + T] to use the transform tool or [CTRL + D] to clear a selection ]

Other point : what's about users who are used to TVPaint's hotkeys ?

BTW, thanks the help inline, when you let your cursor above a button, it automatically gives you its name and the hotkey.

TVPaint is not a compositing software.TVPaint Animations is a drawing and 2D traditional animation software.
The compositing tools were added in the early 2000s' and never changed since, because the current architecure of the software does not allow it.
That's why I always explain in trainings "always save your project without applying your effects, then save it under a different name when you will apply them".

At the moment, it's not the aim of the software to be a concurrent of After Effect. Be sure that when it will be the case, the price of the software will be quite more expensive

I want to select instantce beyond layer

It's a frequently asked feature and on this point, I agree with you

But if it's just for timing, you can already do that :
* select your layers
* stretch the instances

All instances that ends at the same image will be stretched at the same time

But, if you don't use the fonction copy / cut to layer / image in the tool panel, why don't you use the cut brush tool when you want to cut or copy ?

In most cases, Selection tools are totally useless (bad Photoshop's habits ) and the Cut brush tool does the job.

Not possible in the current architecture of TVPaint 10.
You cannot neither draw out of the drawing space. This is the lack of the bitmap : the drawing space defines where the pixels exists.

But why don't you create a project with a camera ? Just define a bigger drawing space and a smaller camera view. You will have a huge drawing space and only the camera view will show the final output.

Since many 2d graphic softwares are developed based on adobe's productions, it allows users to take less time in familiarizing with them.

Just a little note : did you know that TVPaint is as old as Photoshop ? (Photoshop is older of 6 months.) TVPaint was created in 1991 and was inspired a lot by software from the 80s', like Deluxe Paint (1985). We even included layers before Photoshop, you know
It's not in our habits to follow exactly what the others did, we take inspiration and draw our own path. What would be the interest to do exactly like the others ?

That would be faster than clicking on the good layer, going to the good image and press [backspace] on the keyborad to break the instance.

I started a topic on the shortcut issue here. I agree making shortcuts is too difficult, and there should be default shortcuts for beginners. The default shortcuts should be thought trough carefully so it's not absolutely necessary to edit every single tool to be able to work efficiently.

It does work a little bit though... But when you paste, it pastes the entire canvas, also transparent unselected pixels, thereby deleting the previous drawing on the current frame.

I'd like this too! The button says 'play flipbook', but if you bind a key to 'play flipbook' the function is completely different.

Yes! It would be great to be able to see if an instance is 100% clear or not. I agree the thumbnails are too small.

Yes! Organising what you can and can't see could use some extra tools like this. I was really excited when Groups were introduced, but was disappointed when I first used them. Colour labels are not groups. I'll create a new topic for this though.

Yes they are. They are not folders (they are better than this), but they are groups.

Well...

A simple example of the power of what groups could be:

If you have a project with 2 characters, both consisting of 2 layers:

- Boy line
- Boy color
- Girl line
- Girl color
- Layout
- Background

I'd want a group for all of the boy's layers:
Group "Boy" has 'Boy line' and 'Boy color' in it. (So I can easily render the boy seperately for compositing purposes etc)

Same for the girl:
Group "Girl" has 'Girl line' and 'Girl color'

Also, you'd want a group for only all necessary layers for animating.
Group "Lines" has 'Boy line', 'Girl line' and 'Layout'

I'd LOVE a button that would only show my line animation and layout. But I'd also want to have all 'Boy' content in a 'Boy' group.

...And folders are a another thing, and would still be great to have next to groups. Everybody loves folders.

Okay, that makes sense. I don't think such behavior should be possible, but there is indeed something to think about.

I'd like to see more compositing functionality, too, although what TVPaint provides now is pretty good (I especially like the multi-plane camera). I pretty much have to rely on TVPaint for compositing and post-FX as I use Linux only and there is nothing on Linux like After Effects unless I want to spend $2500 for NukeX or Eyeon Fusion.

Yes, I advise you to have 2 tvpaint projects : one without any FX applied (just in the FX stack) and another project, with the FX applied.
So, if you ever need to change the effect, open the 1st file. If everything is okay and you just want to export the final result, open the 2nd file.

Yes, it doesn't not exist with the Transform tool.

If you do need it, it exists with the custom brush and the keyframer.

The cut brush tool allows you to select a zone in drawing aread an automatically turn it into a custom brush, right.
But you can just stamp it once, make it turn, etc... Just like you would did with a Selection tool + [CTRL+X]

Well... as we don't have any other software than TVPaint Animation 10 (Standard and Professional), errr, yes

When you need a huge canvas for a camera move, you can then "Render" the camera in a new project (in Project top menu)
