Clip Editor : Editing Clips without changing global Timing

Post by NathanOtano »

Hey!

EDIT : New version two posts below

Here is a button to be able to change the duration of a clip without affecting the global duration of your project.

You need to have your mark out activated to use it (just click and drag your clip end on your timeline view to activate it, or use the second button on the panel or the associated shortcut).

When you use the Clip Editor button, you have to enter a number.
Then it moves the mark out of your current clip a number of frames equal to the number you entered (can be negative).
And to compensate, it moves the mark out of your next clip in the opposite direction.
Then it goes back to the frame you were before using the script.

Don't hesitate to give feedbacks, especially if there is any problem or good idea to improve it

Nathan

EDIT : Updated the script, it's in my storyboard tools here : http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10376" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hey

Joined below an updated version of the clip editor.

Now it's only driven by george scripts, no shortcuts. It works in every case, even if your markin/markout isn't activated.

Also now you have in the dialog box directly the current real editing length of you clip, and you have to type the exact new exposure you want.

I advise you to have your layers set to any post behaviour except "None" so you'll never have a problem of length when editing.
I'm finishing a script to stretch the current layer to the beginning/end of the edited clip, for setting correctly the camera movements and for people who don't want to use post behaviours. I just have to correct some bugs.
I'll also add some options such as moving markIn instead of Markout, adding or deleting exposures, and all of set of related editing scripts (if people are interested). Plus some scripts related to the layers (like break all layer instances, delete all current layers or clear all current instances)

Tell me if you find any bug or if it's usefull to you

Nathan
