Feature Change - Vertical Timeline

In Preferences there is the option for displaying a "vertical timeline." But it isn't truly a vertical timeline, it's the same horizontal timeline that moves over to the side instead of the bottom of the drawing panel.

I would like a true vertical timeline where the cells in the timeline window are aligned vertically, Digicel Flipbook style.

Because of the new HD monitors, there is more width than there is height to work with. If I could have a vertical timeline, I would have more room to draw without the timeline window popping up every time my pen moves near the bottom of the drawing panel. The timeline window can be moved over to the side, yet I would still be able to see many of my thumbnails, aligned vertically, instead of just one or two like it is now.

Thanks for listening.

Do you know about the X-sheet mode in TVPaint ? I have one of my Rooms (workspaces) set up to use the X-sheet mode when needed. The only thing about the X-sheet mode is that the functions don't exactly mirror the functions of the horizontal timeline , which would be much better , imo. (I think that is on the developer's "to do" list , but I'll let them speak to that)

You can toggle the layer panel/timeline on-and-off using the button in the main menu at the top or key that command (keyboard shortcut = 0 ) to toggle the layer panel/timeline on and off with one of your Wacom tablet express keys.

Thank you, DTN.

I did know about the x-sheet mode and its limitations compared to the timeline. But that was a good suggestion about setting up one of my rooms with the x-sheet.

I will also do as you recommended and make one of my Cintiq's express keys toggle the timeline on and off. It is what it is . . . for now. :-)

Thank you again.
