[SOLVED] Solo Layer

I often work with a lot of layers. Sometimes it would be nice if I could only display let's say 4 of 30 Layers, especially if you like to export only those four.
Currently I select all layers turn them off and turn only the four layers I'd like to export on and export them. Unfortunately I always need to turn every single layer manually back on.
So it would be nice to have something like a solo-switch on every layer.

Have you tried color grouping?

Yea, I use the color grouping a lot. With own colors: skeching layers blue, cleanup layers dark grey, guide layers red, reference layers green etc.
But this way I could only make all clean-up layers visible at once.
Sometimes I have two different reference layers, my sketch layer etc. on and would like to export just let's say 2 of the 10 clean-up layers. My way would be to select all layers, make them invisible and then turn on these 2 layers. But after exporting I need to turn on every single layer I need while working.

A better solution would be something like a SOLO switch on every layer. You turn on the solo switch on as many layers you want and see only them. If you turn of all solo switches you get back to your original configuration.

I just don't know how hard it would be to add this feature.

This is why I asked, because I too run into similar situations often enough. Maybe another solution could be to have the ability to save varying color groupings under different names.

Have you tried "Display Current" ? It also works for the export task. After exporting you just click on display current again and you have your layers back.

It only works for one layer as far as I know. If you want to do this with several layers, I would use "activate current group layers" and "inactivate current group layers" but I guess that is not what you are looking for.

I didn't know the "display current" function before. But that's exactly what I'm searching for, except it only works with one layer.
Would be great if you could use it with multiple layers. Anyway good to know, thank you furushil.
