timeline scroll while copying frames

I don't know if this has been discussed before, I could not find a forum topic:
When I have e.g. 10 layers and I want to copy frame 1 from the bottom layer to a specific layer above, I select frame 1 and drag it up. Now the problem is that only the right part of the timeline is moving while the left stands still. I don't know exactly which layer I am on because I cannot read the layer name, so I don't know where to "drop" the frame.
Would it be possible that the left and right side of the timeline moves?
I hope it is clear what I mean
my time line is usually very small:
- timeline.png (30.61 KiB) Viewed 19852 times

Usually I enlarge the timeline window, or use copy&paste for this. But I think you're right and the layer names should scroll with the layers - if that's technically possible. Right now the name part updates only after I released the image in that layer.

This behaviour is normal : what if you have a long animation and just want to move a single image from a layer to another ? You just want to move that image, not the layer

Could you explain more why this is normal? It is exactly what I want to do, I want to move a single image from one layer to another.
Right now, when I want to move a layer, I drag the layer up and the left layer side and the right frame side is moving at the same time.
If I want to move a single image, only the right frame side is moving but the layer side stands still. I don't understand why.
I cannot read the name of the layer I am on.

Well, in a case I have an animated sequence :
- move image 001.png (24.97 KiB) Viewed 19805 times
If I want to move the frame with black 3 to replace red 3 on the layer above....
- move image 002.png (50.81 KiB) Viewed 19805 times
- move image 003.png (25.03 KiB) Viewed 19805 times
... it does not make any sense if the part on the left "follows" the move : I just copy and overwrite an image, I'm not moving the whole layer.
I hope is it clearer

Yes, this is clear, but I don't want to move the layer at the same time as the single image. I 'm just talking about the scrolling. I would like to have it scroll up as I move the single frame up not move the layer, I think that was the misunderstanding.
(I will try to make a gif at home later)
But I can see your point and how the timeline sides are related.

Yes it was. But unfortunately, you'll have to wait a little before enjoying this fix.
