Loop Fantasy?

Post by Kathy Engelhard »

Could someone please tell me if I have the screen shot of the frames in the TL correct for faux-fixe?
I also have a link for the video from these frames. It plays correctly for the small amount of frames used.

But, my really BIG question is:

Is there a way to make a 30 frame, 30 fps video, play for 3 minutes??

I thought that is what looping meant but, setting "REPEAT" at the end doesn't make it loop
and using faux fixe just adds more frames to the TL, adding time to the TL.

How would I be able to make 30 frames play for 3 minutes on its own, without the player having a loop button?
Thank you merciful mentors! 8)

If you have 5 frames you need to loop for three minutes, you must create a three minute long TL, with the first 5 frames being your intended loop sequence. Then, on the 6th frame you create your FauxF typing in the number 5 and set the FF value to "Repeat" and that's it.

Thank you so much Paul! :P

I didn't understand that pulling the last frame (# 5) by its tail, to make empty frames up to the length of time needed then,
opening the faux fixe pop up menu on the empty # 6 frame, to enter the # 5, for the amount of the 5 frames that I 'm looping or cycling.
Then, at the end of the final empty frame, change the "HOLD" setting to "REPEAT" setting, would do it!

Whew! Learning TVPaint Pro on my own has been like riding a roller coaster! :? :P

I only used 600 frames for this loop, just to practice with. :D

You're welcome, Kathy. This is where you would have benefited from having had some prior film editing experience. If you had started your editing learning curve with having to physically cut into frames and connect edits together with scotch tape, the logic of what FF does would have perhaps occurred to you. But this is neither here nor there. Just remember that if you ever need to stop FF from FFing somewhere in the middle, just paste in that spot whatever still (single) frame from your loop you wish, to continue with as a hold.
