Please improve the progress profile

Post by Soom »

I find the Progress Profile quite limited and problematic in several aspects:
1. The curves can be manipulated only in 3 ways, but not a combination of them. Bezier curves with full control of vector handles would be much more useful, as it is now in other software, like After Effects. Right now it's very hard to create custom shapes, especially on longer animations with several changes.
2. There is no frame grid which makes it impossible to know how the curve works, unless I select the corresponding frames in the Timeline.
3. If I already have created a certain graph, and then added or reduced the amount of Keyframes on the FX timeline, the graph shape would adjust to the new timing, instead of remaining the same. Which results in loosing completely all the work done on the path shape by now. For example - I have an animation of 100 frames. I am applying a Keyframer effect on 80 frames and have already created a progress path with several different shapes. Then I decide, that I need to apply it actually to 85 frames instead - so I add another keyframe to the FX, but then the path stretches to the new timing, which means it will not work the same for the first 80 frames any more...
4. There is no separate profile for X Y Z , Aspect, Rotation, etc. (in case of Keyframer FX), or any other separate FX setting, which, in some cases, proves to be quite limited. For example if I use a Keyframer FX, and have a character flying through the scene with equal speed, but at the same time falling down with increasing speed, I cannot make it in one pass...
5. Selecting multiple points on the path is impossible.

Correct me if I'm wrong on something?

Thanks

We are aware of all this.
It's a long development to change it. Be patient. :)
