Option to use same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 rooms
Option to use same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 rooms
It would be nice to be able to use the same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 rooms. And only have a different layout etc for each room.
I will never be able to remember four sets of keyboard shortcuts for 1 application anyway.

I agree.
On an academic level I can see why I might be a good idea to have different shortcuts for different rooms, but in practice it would just drive me crazy.

So why don't you just import the set you have saved in room 1?

Re: Option to use same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 r
Because as an added option within the keyboard shortcuts panel ( a checkbox for example) it would save me the hassle of having to import every time I change the settings. I change them quite often for different projects, using different custom brushes for instance. Also, with me, different projects require different workflows.
Not an issue that's at the top of my wishlist but it's good to have it noted, I believe.

Re: Option to use same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 r
But I, and possibly many others, do have different sets for different rooms. I would hate it if I would lose that. For instance, I don't use all 4 rooms so in the last one I keep the settings to default. This way I can easily crosscheck on posts that refer to the default settings.

That makes sense.
But an extra option somewhere in the Keyboard Shortcut Panel, like a checkbox, wouldn't change your preferred workflow, would it?

Sure, but as you said, there are a dozen other, more important, improvements to be dealt with way ahead in the line.

Re: Option to use same set of keyboard shortcuts for all 4 r
Yeah, but since 10.5 will bring us a way to share projects and panels over a network (nothing a server can't do. I share files on a daily basis and didn't need it, but I guess someone did), which was considered more important than many other things on feature requests lists, I don't think it hurts to ask for things that will speed up your own workflow/pipeline. Me and my studio buddies are paying customers as much as the rest.

I'm guessing that that was an important request from one of the feature film studios working with TVP?...10.5 will bring us a way to share projects and panels over a network...

That's my understanding as well; more than just one large studio, too.

I hope support for sharing across the Internet comes along, too.... maybe some kind of integration via Dropbox or something.

Please not. I've got half-assed cloud solution tools coming out the wazoo these days. Please don't bog up TVP with another one.
I'm all for sharing but just use FTP or WeTransfer or whatever.

I'm thinking of buying a NAS to bypass all these pay-for-your-gigabyte services.
The cloud is good idea, perhaps, but I have never found it to be really practical for work.
