TVPaint gets laggy

I'm using TVpaint Standard (10.0.17 32bit) on a MacbookPro (late 2008 4GB RAM, 2,53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). Most of the time everything works like expected, but after using some RAM-intensive software (sometimes even after using Firefox) TVPaint gets really laggy. I installed MemoryClean to see how much RAM I got left and to clean the RAM, but this doesn't work. Usually I need to restart my computer to get TVPaint running like before, even if I got 2GB RAM left.
Maybe I'm just doing something terribly wrong, but it seems like TVPaint remembers how much RAM I used and stays at this level till I reboot the whole system.
EDIT: I noticed that if TVPaint gets laggy the scrollbars doesn't react on my stylus anymore. So I tried to use them with my mouse, which worked quite well. So I tried to draw something with my mouse. Suprisingly it worked lag-free.
But even if I can't draw in TVpaint without lags I can still use the stylus in every other apllication, even Photoshop. So I guess it's some kind of "incompatiblity-bug" with the drivers of my cintiq and TVpaint.
