Store layers/frames/clips in a library/Bin

This is slightly connected to my request of an overhaul to the xsheet system (along with group layers and so on)
A way to remove a layer/frame/clip from a timeline,and just store it in a bin
Like a library.
it should not show up anywhere but in that library,ready to import it again if it would be needed.
I ask this because when I clean my lines,I am hesitant to throw my old sketches away.
I know I can assign a color to them and hide them,but that is a bad system as it still is present in the timeline and is taken into account when going up or down the layers.
It would just make so much more sense to have a dedicated space/window/tab to store not needed but not redundant stuff. or as a hub to re-use footage. Frames,strings of frames,clips,layers. It would help tremendously.
I would though advocate a textual library/bin system,much more organized then thumbnails.
