On October 26th Microsoft had their press party announcing the immediate availability of Windows 8.
In addition to the Microsoft Surface Tablet (RT version) there were a number of third party Windows 8 tablets also announced and on display.
Samsung unveiled two tablet+keyboard configurations that are Windows 8 versions of the Samsung Note 10.1 SPen-enabled tablet, but which also seem to offer more typical laptop functionality including a version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and OneNote).
The first tablet-keyboard combo, the Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T, featuring an SPen-enabled, touch-screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768, 2gb standard system memory and a Solid State Drive of 64gb. It is all driven by the 1.8 Ghz, Intel® Atom™ Processor Z2760.
The PC 500T's Tablet/touch-screen is detachable, contains its own long-charge battery, USB connector, microSD slot, wireless, bluetooth and all the other things you'd expect a stand-alone tablet to have.
The full-size detachable keyboard also has its own supplementary battery and offers two more USB connectors.
It's quite a system for $699.99.

The extras bring the cost for this bigger-brother system to $1,199.99.

Both systems will be available very soon... I'm anxious to hear how TVPaint performs on these promising tablets!
