Explorer crashes when opening a folder with TVPfiles[solved]

Dear TVPaint friends,
I have this strange bug occurring every time I open a folder that contains TVPaint files; Windows Explorer crashes
I have a feeling it might have something to do with the TVP thumbnails that are displayed in the folder. It only happens when I open a folder that contains TVP files. when there are no TVP files in the folder everything goes well. Is this something that somebody recognizes? Could it have something to do with the TVPaint thumbs? Or do I need to reinstall Windows?
I am on Windows 7 64 bit, with TVP 10.0.2. 64bit.

Hello !
When did this bug appear ?
Does it happen in all directories where you have tvpp files ?
Does it happen each time you go into one of these directories, or sometimes you can open a directory with tvpp files without crash ?
Can you try to create a new directory, copy only one of your tvpp file and see if it crash all the time. It it does, maybe you can send me the file which causes the crash.
Because there is no problem here on Windows7 64bits with thumbnails.

When did this bug appear ?
I think it started after I installed version 10 of TVP. The funny/strange thing is; the crashes don't occur when I use Directory Opus or Adobe Bridge to navigate to a folder to open a TVPaint file.

It does!

At first occasionally, but now it crashes every time.

Just tried it and it crashes. How do I send you my file? The forum email doesn't allow attachments...
I will see if I can find the time to reinstall Windows, just to make sure that it's not a Windows bug that has crept in... (but first I need to find the time to do this.)
Thanks for the quick response!

Sewie, we are experiencing exactly the same problem -- that is Sandra, because I avoid it by using OPUS or use the systems option in TVP.

Hmm, that's good to know Paul.
Looks like it's possibly a faulty TVPaint thing, then...

It's in the garage for repairs. I just didn't want you to feel that you are alone in this and that it is your computer.

I'm also having this problem

Windows Explorer began crashing when I started using TVPaint. I'm using TVP 10.2.
Is it some kind of memory leak or something? Sometimes my TVPaint program starts to run sluggish after some use, the explorer crashes occur, and if I quit and restart its responsive again. Weird.

Hi,
This is my Error with Explorer .
Verbessert erst jetzt bewusst bemerkt Sorry.

I'm getting this too. Though I seem to think it only started when I turned on the backup feature. Though I could be mistaken. I didn't really connect it to TVP rather some files provided by a client in the same folder.
I'm on windows & 32bit by the way.

My backup feature is off and the crashes are still going on!

I'm always on this bug, which is hard to track :/
So for the moment, to avoid this explorer crash, you can disable the dll to display thumbnails of the tvpp files.
What to do:
_ Go to your directory C:\Windows\System32
_ Find the file TVPaint10Thumbnail64.dll (or TVPaint10Thumbnail32.dll for Windows 32 bits)
_ Rename it to something like TVPaint10Thumbnail64xxxxxxxxxxx.dll
_ Reboot your computer
_ The thumbnails of tvpp files won't be displayed anymore, but the explorer won't crash
Of course, it's a temporary solution until the bug is found.
