I apoligize beforehand for another lengthy request but I think this is preferable to multiple small topics. Also I only take this much time because I really care about this program.
Remember tool settings
For example sketch panel.
I use the red pencil. But then I want a slightly bigger version, with no pressure, and opacity 50%,in panto mode. if I take an eraser momentarily, all those settings are lost. So I would like it if the tools in sketchpanels and customized panels REMEMBER what settings I have made. and then if I CHOOSE to go back to the default setting just let me reset the tool.
I know you COULD make custom panels with those little changes, but for every little change you'd have to make a new button and possible delete the previous ones. This also gets window consuming, soa " remember settings" and a "reset tool" function for defaults would be best,in my opinion.
Also if I have crayon tools made,or pencil tools ,or paint tools it would be nice to just save them on the same button . If you want the other variants simply press on the button for a longer time(or with a dropdown arrow next to it) and you get a little list with said variants (best with naming possibilites to be able to differentiate them. And all those should be able to remember newer states but also be reset to default.
Now that I think about it,this might be a bit like corel painter, but I think it would be unwise to shun this because of that. The added functionality would remove so much clutter and repeated actions. It is a great solution for a bitmap painting/animating program
When I make cutbrushes also the previous settings should be remembered. I always need to set smooth to best and rotation mode, and mostly it's always the same type you need. So remembering settings should also extend to custombrush, airbrush and other tools.
easier cusomizating of magic blue and red eraser, and other such tools in the sketch panel. maybe a 'master magic eraser" or a "master Tint" which only takes into account the current selected color in B (A is for replacing that color)
so if you select yellow, only that yelow gets affected,if you select some kind of purple ,only that pruple gets deleted,or tinted or replaced...
I know you have some kind of functionality in this with the color replacer effect, but I would like this in a brush since I do not want to affect the WHOLE drawing.
if there are any questions please ask.
Remember newest setting + Save different variants of a brush
Re: Remember newest setting + Save different variants of a b
At the moment, it's not possible to do something like this : tools from the sketch panels are memorized with default preset (paper, color, size, aspect etc...) custom tools. They are not like presets in the Tool menu. You have to create your own panel with your own settings or save it in the binsKwadrope wrote:So I would like it if the tools in sketchpanels and customized panels REMEMBER what settings I have made. and then if I CHOOSE to go back to the default setting just let me reset the tool.

Who knows, maybe the future will bring an interesting solution ?
Not possible neither at the moment, because colors from sketch panel are linked together (gren-red-black / orange-blue-black etc...) and will only the nuance. For example, if you use the blue eraser on purple, you will withdraw only the "blue" nuance from the purple (and you will obtain red).Kwadrope wrote:easier cusomizating of magic blue and red eraser, and other such tools in the sketch panel. maybe a 'master magic eraser" or a "master Tint" which only takes into account the current selected color in B (A is for replacing that color)

But well, maybe developers could find a magical solution. =)

this can actually be achieved by activating Keep in the Tool : Cutbrush panelKwadrope wrote:

In some way or other all of what you want to do can already be done by using George scripts. Of course the overhead in learning George makes that impractical for the individual user... but it's all there thanks to Herve and his programmers (and diligent, informed, ongoing requests from Mark Chong, Mads and others.) .

Hi Kwadrope
When I started using TV Paint I would also like custom brushes buttons like the sketch panel pens to remember settings. So I created a system with george where i could save settings from a tool into a "slot" and then load it by pressing a button or a keyboard slot.. and then a single button that when pressed whouls save the current tool settings into the last "slot" that is loaded.
You can find the system here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3648
under tools.
