trouble saving

Hello everyone,

I work with TV-paint 8.5.3 and have some trouble with saving. Sometimes it happens that when I reload a file i saved the day before, half of the layers are missing. It has happened that I lost a day of work like this, very frustrating ofcourse.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

Thanks a lot,

Johan Klungel, Amsterdam

The first thing that comes to my mind is that you might have not saved the project as recently as you think. What makes me say this is that only half of your layers are missing and that this happens only sometimes. Another reason I say this is that this used to happen to me a lot until I learned to save often; sometimes after each new frame I draw. What do you use to save; key command, click on save icon, click on Quick and Save and Quick dialogue box at the end, any of the above? If the answer is all of the above you might have thought you saved but hadn't because inconsistency breeds errors. Particularly that last dialogue box can be confusing and you give the wrong answer.

If you are absolutely positive that what I say here does not apply to your case, then I am stumped and I'll wait with you for someone with a better idea to answer.

Hi Johan,

Please can you update to 8.6.4, it could improve the situation. :)

Thank you Paul and Eric,

I'm very sure I saved many times. But so far the update seems to work. No problems untill now. Thanks!

best,

Johan

I forgot all about that one; often all I need to do to get something to work again is to report the problem and instantly it never happens again; seriously. :| I've seen this happen to many others.
