A warp capability for cutbrush's bounding box

Post by Svengali »

As with the individual layer, the cutbrush bounding box can be scaled and rotated. But, unlike the individual layer, the cutbrush is left out where warping is concerned. There have been many, MANY times I've wished for the ability to directly "warp" the cutbrush... deform and skew by independently moving individual corners of the cutbrush bounding box.

I wonder if anyone else would find this useful and I wonder if such a feature could be included in the next release?

2 questions in one ,
I can only answer to the first part : yes, I would ! :)
for the time being, I use the selection tool + cut to new layer + the transform tool (the for corners warp) + apply,
... and recut to a brush if necessary.

Zig's improvised method suggested a way to create a "warp cutbrush" tool script - demonstrated HERE .

The script works but is not really dependable so I hope the next update provides us with a warp cutbrush option. :?

It would be great, though, if the warp capacity for the cutbrush would have the possibility of bending the brush in a curve as well. A bit like the 'wrapping grid' or 'optical flow' in the FX panel. Or like the envelope distort in Photoshop.

The revised warp tool of version 10 is good, but I believe we are many who would love to have this function implemented in the cutbrush.
