In the Lighttable:Previous/Next Frame Clorizarion Mode
You can choose bt
None
Color
Gradient
I like to have my Lighttable:Previous/Next Frame Clorizarion Mode Set to Color.
And have the Previous frames in the lighttable Green and the Nexxt Red.
Right now I'm Storyboarding Abd I have the Background on one layer and the characters on another.
When i have made one characte drawing in black line I fill behind with white so I can't see the Backgrond through the Character.
The problem is now that Ib the lighttable I cant see my Line it's just one big Green or red surface.
So I thought I would like a new Mode where the frames are colored but instead of the transparency (alpha channel)is defining the color it could be the Luminance of the frame(or is it called the white black contrast?)
I mean where it has a luminance of 255 its transparent and where the luminance is 0 it has the color of choice(mine was green and red)
This way I could fill my storyboard drawing and still use the Lighttable.

well you could always fill that white line in a third layer between the line and the background
But I understand what you are saying..

In toonboom this problem is solved by having in 1 layer 2 separate layers on themselves. You can choose to work on the line layer or color layer, though they are in fact 2 layers contained in one master layer, and show them both together or seperately, the one or the other. Now if TVP would have something similiar you wouldn't have to mess around with transparancy or luminosity or whatever. You set lightable to line layer, and not to color layer and that would be that.

But there might be other options as well I guess?

Of course You can make Work arounds. But I think I Color:Luminence mode Would be Much Better than a Color:Transparency mode as we have now because The would work the same on line work. but on filled shape you would still be able to see the different colors because of different luminence. where in the transparency mode it's just a big shape.

agreed for colored animation the color mode is quite useless.
and changing it to Luminence wouldn´t alter its use when doing line animation

Came to think of that if you are animating with a White outline then a Luminence mode would be useless and we have to think of all scenarios. So I guess I'm asking keeping the old Color: Transparency and adding a for a new Color:luminense mode .
Maybewe should have color:luminence and color:luminence reversed where black is transparent and white is colored...
