Sound problem - urgent help needed

Hello
I'm trying to put a sound track for an animatic , working in storyboard mode - project with several clips. First it played back twice as fast as normal.
I closed the program, reopened, reloaded the mp3 file, now it plays about 4 times as fast. Both cases the sound stops after 5 seconds
I tried it also as soundtrack for a single clip - same problem. And same with other tracks.
Can anybody tell me fast what it is to do? PLS
Cheers
Veronica

hi Veronica, and welcome.
Can you please give us more infos about your workstation, ... firstly what OS ? ... and what TVPA version ?
secondly, what's your project's size (W x H), project's frame-rate, Preview frame-rate ...???
what's your player settings ? ... are you playing in RealTime mode, or in pre-Render mode ?
then, what's your sound's sampling rate (Hz) ... 11025, ... 44100 ...?
lastly, have you tried to convert the mp3 file (load and save as... in an external sound editor) in another sound format, (.wav for instance) ?

If your project is set to play at 12fps and you change the setting in the project window to 24 fps, the sound will play twice as fast. Could this have happened?

Thank you ZigOtto
Sorry , I completely forgot to add the technical details
Workstation : Mac OSX 10.5.8
TVPA 9.5 updated
project size 1280/720
framerate 25 000
sound sampling 44100
Now , with the Preview frame rate and the playing mode... I didn't find where to access the settings , except for the proxy loading band (I'm quite a beginner)
Good news is that when I opened the project this morning it was again just at double speed and it didn't stop after 5 sec. I didn't change any setting.
I'll try converting to wav for now...
Thanks to Paul also - when I find where the playback setting are I'll know if that's the case
Sigh...

SOLVED!
Wav worked
... I should have known
Still I'd like to know where the playback settings are
if it's the button at the base of the project window- then it's fine - it's at project rate
Thanks again
Veronica

It's the button at the base of the project window. But that's a temporary setting. The permanent setting you create in the startup panel or when you create a new project once TVP is opened, or when you modify your current project.

the preview's framerate button is indeed included in the control bar at the bottom of the preview window,
or, in "full-screen" mode, accessible in the Windows/Remote panel .

as for the Preview Settings (% playback quality and Force Proxy Render mode),
well, they are in Windows/Preview Settings panel.

Indeed I didn't see the Windows/PrevSettings
but I accessed it right clicking the proxy bar
speed problems appeared again but went away by reopening the file. not worrying.
thanks again
