I like your sketching. The inside of the dog's mouth at the corner seems to be smiling in the sketch (which I like) but when you paint it so dark, that little smiling corner is lost. Maybe the inside of his mouth could be a dark pink so we could still see his expression?

I have this trouble....my sketches suggest feelings I can lose when I paint them.
