random brush colors - is this possible?

Post by Animark »

Hi together,

I've puchased TVPaint for my home use and found some time to play a little bit with the brushes. Sometimes in Photoshop i use a brush function, that randomly or by pressure and so on changes the values of the color I choosed. I'ts sometimes very nice to paint while the color changes a little bit (lighter, darker, more or less saturated, ...).

I could do this in TVPaint, when I put different colored brushes in an animated brush. But is there another possibility to get a color changing brush in TVPaint? Maybe with scripting?

Thanks from Animark!

hi Animark,

Please test the luma-stamp and smear options, it may help in some situations :)

Using fabrice's suggestion you can make an animbrush of a dot that fades from white to black
if you set the custombrush colormode to alpha stamp, and you draw with it, the brush will display the color range between A and B color
depending on how you set the animation behaviour of the animbrush (f.i.: random, or pressure )

the color variation can then be adjusted by changing both the A and B color.

Ah, yes. It works, not with "Alpha Stamp", but with "Luma Stamp".
It's a little bit more work to do as in Photoshop and it works, let's say half ways, but it helps me a lot and I can reach nearly what I aimed to do.

Thank you a lot.
