File Requester in TVP 9.5

I am using TVP 9.5.4 and I use the windows system file requester as my setting to load and save files. However now when I save files as TVPP I do not see a thumbnail image like I used to. All I see is the TVP logo. However when I use the TVP file requester, I do see thumbnail images for both TVP and TVPP files. Any ideas as to how I can get windows to show the thumbnail images of the newer TVPP files. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks.

my winXP system browser shows thumbnails for both .tvp and .tvpp file here.

maybe you can try to re-install the tvpa thumbnail.dll extension .

.tvpp files are supposed to have a thumbnail?? That would be great. Unfortunately they don't have on my Mac, and I use the Mac file window.

don't know exactly, but it could be in Windows/system32, ... anyway, you just have to Help/ Check for Update ... download the last build (v9.5.5) and install it (execute the TVPAxxxx.exe file) in custom mode, with the Thumbnail (optional) component checked.

I tried that but the installer has a problem writing that dll to my computer. I get this error at the end of the install:

a problem opening file for writing ... weird, I can see only 2 reasons :
- your .exe file is corrupted (a part is missing), delete it and try a download again .
(for info, here, the whole file's size is 41 478 841 octets)
- you haven't the rights (administrator) to modify files into the windows folders .

I've tried just yet and the installer did its job succesfully,
the TVPAPThumbnail9.dll is dated 09/08/2009 and located in the system32 folder.

I will try that. My downloaded file is only 39 megs so maybe I got a bad download.

I tried a fresh download and it still wont write that file. Could you send me just that dll file so I could try to manually install it?

I have that .dll and another TVP-Thumbnail.dll in my system 32 folder and I have never seen a tvpp thumbnail. Actually I still live under the understanding that the thumbnail can be seen only with the TVP browser.

So maybe I am asking for something that windows can't do.

I would say in first : update your TVP to the 9.5.5 version. I'm not sure it will fix your problem, but who knows ? I will ask to Hervé when he will be here =)
