stuck in eraser mode, tvp 8.6.2, mac

anyone experience this?
using my stylus upper side switch set to 'erase', i often get stuck in eraser mode. sometimes clicking multiple times releases it, other times i've had to quite tvp.
in the meantime, i'll try to test whether it's a faulty stylus, by only erasing from a key command or the tool bar.

You know, you can have it set to right click and get two functions out of it; right click and erase. See if that works better for you.

hello Paul, congrats on your film; i hope to see it soon-

i have the upper and lower side switches set to 2 different functions. the lower side switch set to 'erase' (a large partially opaque airbrush eraser for general erasing). the upper side switch set to 'right click'. which seems to automatically become an eraser in whatever tool i'm in. is that normal? regardless, that's the one i use frequently for refined erasing, BUT that's the mode it gets stuck in a lot.

Thanks, Charlie.

Any tool you can draw with, even a cut brush, will become an eraser if you hold the RMB down. I've never heard of eraser mode becoming invariably stuck but wouldn't put it beyond the Wacom software -- or as you were thinking, the pen itself. Try programing the top switch to anything else you use often (I have it set to #1, which is the light table switch) and see if that gets stuck... that might indicate a Wacom issue (pen or software).

You might want to consider updating the Wacom software or reinstalling if you are already on 6.1.1.3
Write down your settings before doing this -- it makes it easier to reprogram the newly installed software.
