Temporarily save and reload or swap out a current tool?

Post by Svengali »

Is there a way to save a current tool with all its parameters (a penbrush for instance), then load another tool (a smudge tool for instance), then reload the first penbrush tool with all its parameters back in effect? It would be nice if you could assign a name to the temporarily saved penbrush tool so you could use that same name to retrieve it. Or maybe it could just be a little bit of reserved memory that would allow a simple swap of the current tool for the stored one (like you can do with the "SPARE" frame).

I was also hoping this could be something to incorporate in a button or invoked through a command in a George file.

the third button, "Swap Tool" by Mark Chong (aka Le-Mec) did something like what you're asking,
swapping between the two last used drawing tools ...

try to PM him to get the george script. :)

Hmm. Looks exactly like what I'm thinking of :D I'll take a shot at scripting it myself first, then swap notes with Mark if he's willing. His comments over there hint at a way to do it.

Thanks very much for the link!
