Is it possible to have transparent background for layers made with the Drawing Recorder (- or do I have to color-keying them later...
) ????

Yes, the recorder keep what you see, if you draw on a transparent project ( background set to none ), the recorded layer background will be transparent.

Thank you very much Herve !!
Yes it works.
But anyway my transparent project bg color if set to "none" shows a black visible color - not very comfortable to draw! (but exports transparent just as expected !) - Is there a way to set this to white (and to have "none" for export) ?

Couldn't you draw on white and then do the undo/redo thing on None?

No this didN#t ( - or made it the wrong way...) - I think because a film with all visible information (drawing + bg) is recorded and it can't be changed.

ok, thanks for swift replies -- I'll try it with color-keying.
