multiple TVPaint dongles in one server?

Hi!

I wonder is this supported, because we have three 5-seat dongles and probably attach all of them into one of the TVPaint workstations acting as server.

Or maybe someone can tell us that we're just asking for problems and it's safer to install each dongle into a different pc?

And with "into" I mean just that, this is a school environment so we're definitely gonna hide the license dongles inside the locked pc case, using internal usb ports... 8)

A.

Welcome on our forum A_L !

You an plug all the network dongles on/into the same server. There will be no problem.
Also, if you want, you can set the IP of the computer which will have the 3 network dongles plugged.
Just tell me if you are interested to proceed like this and I will provide you more informations.

Thanks..! I think this first approach suits as fine, but we'll think about the other option if there's some benefit using static IP. We have VLANs and all, I think the server must be one of the classroom workstations anyway (the teacher's pc) and not some server in our server room, so that the workstations and the server certainly "see each other" in the network. We have this other software with similar network licensing and it had limitations with these things. Of course the case may be different with TVPaint.
The workstations seem to find the license ok now anyway, not yet tested with more than a couple of pcs though, so maybe the static IP and adding some configuration pointing to that gives us nothing "extra" or makes things simpler for us here... :?

It's a more appropriated topic. :)

Especially, look at the IPServer options.
