TV Paint Pro 9.0.3 Crashing on any new project

I just updated to 9.0.3 after TVP 9.0.0 crashed 9 times in 2 hours. I can't load any sound into new projects, but I can load it into an old project, no problem with TVP 9.0.0

I'm crashing with any new project, with and without sound. Any new project I open crashes, within minutes after starting it. I can scrub through the sound on any old projects without a crash. Any project I started on Oct. 1st or before seems to work fine. No crashing at all.
I just up dated itunes, this is the only thing different on my Mac sense Oct.1st. Could this be the issue?

We discovered there is a problem with sound on some Macs (some combination of MacOSX/QT/TVPA).
This problem results in TVPA hanging, not really 'crashing'.
Sure the result for the end user this is the same, but if yours 'crashes' (exits with an error message from MacOSX),
you hit another problem. In this case we would need more info.

We are working on it, and a new build should be posted soon (I hope !).

TVP is hanging up, when I Don't import sound. When I'm animating or scrubbing a non-sound project TVP hangs up and I have waited a while hoping not to loss more work. But I force quit, when it seems to be a lost cause.
TVP Crashes (exits with an error message from MacOSX) when I load Sound into a New Project. Any sound completely Crashes the program, as soon the load sound button is pressed.
I can Load new sound into Old projects without a problem. None of my old projects Have crashed Yet. But I can't trust it. I'm afraid to work it the program. I have lost 6 hours of work, every 3 to 5 minutes it crashes on any new projects.

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 2x2.66 GHZ Dual- Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB ( in case this info is important)

I was wondering if upgrading my OSX would help this issue or if all Macs are having this issue.

TVP 9.0.3 on Mac OS 10.4.11 with Quicktime 7.1.5 on PPC G5 Dualcore: new project, imported sound (aif) without problem, played sound, played sound while scrubbing. Save file, open file: no problem, no crash.

Same result on my other machine, identical save the Quicktime version which is 7.5 there. No problems.

I did that once. A Quicktime downgrade only works in the way that you install an old OSX on the disk and perform any upgrade you had in the meantime ... that's why I keep 2 machines and one of them (the work horse) with the old QT version.

I could test and upgrade to QT 7.5.5 just to make sure it's the real culprit ... but then I would have to set up that machine from scratch if I get your results there.

I can't find an old version of quicktime, to do an uninstall reinstall. I need quicktime for work so I'll have to wait and see if the new TVP fix works. Thanks

I just did the upgrade to QT 7.5.5 on my other machine: TVP runs with sound without problems. You definitely have a problem elsewhere, not with QT.

TVPA 9.0.4 Seems to have fixed much of the problem. the program crashed a few times when loading sound into a new projects. When I first loaded the upgrade it didn't seem to work. But I played with it and found if I make a new blank project, save it and closed it. When I reopen the blank project it works, sound loads fine . Sometimes I can load sound to a new project without reopening and it loads fine.
It has not crashed while scrubbing, but I haven't played with that too much.
I'll play with TVPA later in the week. I'm really behind in my work, so I can't play with it anymore. Friday and Saturday I'll play with TVPA and report back.

Thanks a lot guys for fixing the problem!!!! D. Maisey

I have the same problem, when importing sound TVP animation pro 9 crashes (demo version).
I am on intel mac osx 10,4,11 with 2,4 GHZ Intel Core duo 2, 4go 667 mhz ddr2 memory and quicktime 7,3.
Since TVP also crashes when manipulating video; I am really wondering if it is wize to buy it...
Any idea why this happens?:?:
Thanks

Bonjour Séverine, (I know you are from Belgium ;) )

N'hésitez pas à envoyer le fichier MP3 qui fait planter le logiciel à Eric : il s'occupera de corriger le bug dans les meilleurs délais :)

Quand et comment le bug se produit-il au niveau de la vidéo ?

@ Maisey,

Did you update your TVP Animation to the lastest version : 9.0.5 uploaded a few weeks ago ? Does it still happen with this 9.0.5 version ?
