TVPaint used in book about animation

Post by malcooning »

Just came across this book.
Judging by the cover, i seems the author refers to TVPaint/Mirage, or an earlier version.
Did you know this book?

Asaf, this is an old hat and Mirage (1.2//1.5 ?) is praised and used on some basics (small chapter with a few screenshots).
All in all this book is on animation in general and imo suited more for beginners.

I remember Tony White was in connection with Bauhaus's captain P. Ford some years ago,
(the book was promoted on BH's site).
Tony White wrote:... I am therefore extremely excited by the capability of Flash, ToonBoom or Mirage – applications that enable the traditional animator to express themselves with more capability and versatility.

Tony was quite enthused about Mirage . I don't think he had any particular "connection" with Paul Ford , other than being a Mirage user who had written
a book that mentioned Mirage, so why wouldn't they have promoted the book on their site? (the book was written before the big break up between Bauhaus and TVP) .

I don't know if he's continued using TVP or not .

He was also quite enthused about ToonBoom , so who knows ? Contact him via his blog and ask:

Tony's book was what led me to using Mirage and ultimately TV Paint. The idea of a paperless animation studio on my desktop seemed to be the way to go!
