How can I create drops of water running down the screen?

Hello,
I am not sure if this has been posted before. I only found the topic that is related to the particles system...
My question is:
How can I create drops of water (blood) that are running down the screen?
It should have a realistic look.
I know this effect from some of the modern video games for example.
The raindrops should move slowly down the screen. There should be a kind of reflexion and distortion caused by the water surface. It is hard to explain for me.
something like this:
any ideas are welcome... thanks in advance,
Volker

Have you tried drawing the droplets and experimenting with them in the wrapping grid? Or shooting real water running down glass and experimenting with color corrections? Or perhaps using blood from a juicy steak?

A gif I did a long time ago (in Animator Pro) experimenting with dripping and running water. On your glass, each drop acts as a kind of lens. Animate highlights to give your drops volume as they move.

hmmm... maybe it would be the easiest way to shoot some "real" droplets running down glass in front of my bluescreen...
maybe the warp brush in combination with the auto paint tool would be the tool of choice... I will try that later...

you could also try the displacement map FX in combination with autopaint (or project recording)

ok, thank you for your input...
I used the Auto Paint tool now with the "warp out" brush. (Stroke-mode: size)
Then I used the same keys with the Auto Paint on a new layer on top with the Airbrush in red.
I added a combination of the "Add border" and "Toon shading" effects to that "red" layer.
The transparency of that layer is set to 30-40% so the red color just shines a little bit through.
Looks good but not perfect. Have to try harder
