Disney Animation Studio for the Amiga

Post by D.T. Nethery »

Does anyone remember this ?

Disney Animation Studio for Amiga (1990)

I wonder who was involved in creating this ? It's interesting to me that all the traditional animation nomenclature is used ("Exposure Sheet" , "Cel", "Pencil Test") including some that was exclusive to Disney , such as referring to a library of old animation scenes as "The Morgue" .
(nowadays they call it The Animation Research Library , where all the old animation artwork is stored , but to me it's still "The Morgue").

I do remember! It was quite very well done and easy to start with.
To be confirmed but the developer was 'Silent software' (they also did games such as Roger Rabbit for Amiga) and now the company name would be http://www.prolific.com/

There was another anim software called Fantavision (maybe using vector or 'shape morphing'?), do you remember?

Main tool was always Dpaint
but i remember Disney studio for its superior lighttable (i think... :D its so long ago)

Fantavision i also remember ...but never did any project with it.

And there was also 'Brilliance' which was very similar to dpaint but i believe had some extra color options.

I never got this one,

my favorite apps were the irreplaceable DPaint,
and the excellent pencil-tester Take_2 .

At the time, DPaint & Brilliance were the kings of the playground! :D
