Ex-Mirage User w/ ?'s on TVPaint's HD-Res HardWare Req's

Hi!
I used Mirage for a while, but eventually stopped using it as I decided I needed to focus on drawing rather than animation for a time.
Now I'm almost ready to give animation another go, but since ceasing to use Mirage, I've discovered TVPaint, and am considering purchasing it instead of re-installing Mirage and using it again. The primary reason for this is because I was unable to do work at professional (HD) resolutions in Mirage without the audio and video going out-of-sync with one-another, due to frames of animation being skipped or delayed. At the time I was using a system with 4 GB RAM, but now I've had to go back to a system with only 2 GB RAM. I'm using a modest install of WinXP, without any junk running in the background.
My question is, will I experience the same difficulties with TVPaint, in this regard, as I did in the past with Mirage? I've got the demo of TVPaint downloaded, but I haven't the time to begin a HD-resolution project complete with timed soundtrack in its demo version just to find out the answer to my question.
If I am likely to encounter the same problem, then may I ask what hardware components I must upgrade to overcome it, and whether you think TVPaint better in terms of performance in this regard than Mirage?
Thank you very much! Bye!
