how to make quick timing?

Post by toonsisters »

Hello everybody,

working on our project we came across a function to get the key frames in the animation level on 1's, on 2's ect. for the frames which were selected.

We do not want to copy the frames, we just want to enlarge the hold of each keyframe, all at the same time.

But we are not able to find the function again.

Can anybody help us?

best regards,
vera

hi Vera,

haven't you already downloaded the Instance Panel in the Contents sharing section ?
it will probably help you a lot for timing your animation in the timeline view.

No, I haven't. (Nobody told us yet that there is such a Panel to download).
I ought to search the whole forum for classical animation features now, I guess.

Thank you very much!

I followed your link and already downloaded that zip, but I am affraid that your instruction is not clear enough for me as a bloody newby in computers.

Would you be so kind to give me a step by step instrucion to implement this goody or show me where I can find one?

best regards

oups ... sorry!
we have 2 different ways to load a new Custom Panel in tvpa :
(NB: Custom Panel appellation is equal to Custom Bar, or Tool Bar)

- from the main toolbar, right-click on the Custom Panel button (red-surrounded on the pic.),
and choose "Load a New Tool Bar" from the drop-down menu (see pic.),
then browse and pick the .bin file you have previously unzipped, then "OK" .

- from an already open Custom Panel, Right-Click anywhere in an empty place,
and go to "All Panels/Load a New Tool Bar", then browse and pick the .bin file ...

> lesson_18 from the manual.pdf for more about Custom Panel management,
and, here to ask solutions for any trouble you will run across.

Thank you for explaining it so patiently.

I followed your instruction. But after loading the .bin file, the tool bar kept blank.

Then I copied your files into the "plug in" folder in the tvpa folder.
After loading the .bin file now, there is even no tool bar opening.

Then I remembered your instruction about george:

"ps: you probably will have to manually put Hervé's Clear_Head_Frames.grg file in your George folder,
and re-assign the button's george command (RMB/Set Script...) to get the right full path, (regarding your own config). "

Would you be so kind an explain it a little clearer for me?
I can not find my George folder for example.

(I feel kind of disabled because I need to ask so often for explanation. Sorry.)

don't worry, we all have been a newbie one day ...

well, now regarding your trouble in Custom Panel installation, it's weird ...
at first, try again with this attached zipped file (it could be the C.Panel position ouside of your screen),
btw, I suppose you are on PC, don't you?
what OS, and what TVPA version ? and what display config have you ? (size, dualscreen?)
have you unzipped the Instance_Panel-v1.2.zip file in your Plugins folder?
(probably in C:\Program Files\TVPaint Developpement\TVPaint Animation Pro\Plugins\)
once unzipped, you should get 2 folders (a George folder and a Instance Panel.data folder,
+ a Instance Panel.bin file,
did you get them all?

Wonderful!
:D

I just repeated what I did yesterday with your new downloadlink and now it is working perfectly!

There are some of the actions for easy timing we were missing!
(exept the CL button, it clones but does not clear)
Is it possible to connect keyboard short cuts to these actions and where can I learn how to do it?

btw: is this the right forumtopic for these kind of questions or should I use another like "feature request" "general discussion"ß
What do you suggest?

Thank you a lot,
Vera

yeap.
Crtl+K, to open the shortcuts configuration window,
then left-side, choose (enlight) a free shortcut,
right-side, click (enlight) on a CP command in the list,
then click on the "Assign" button, then "OK", that's it.

here's a George path matter,
right-click on the [Cl] button, edit it :
... then click on line : "script : Clear_Head_Frames.grg" and select "set script...",
now browse to find where your george folder is located on your computer,
and select the Clear_Head_Frames.grg file, then "OK", it should work after that.

probably the "technical support" section would be a better place ?

Thank you ZigOtto for your detailed reply.
Everythings work out fine now.

Maybe the admin can move this topic into a more suitable forum, if required.
