After moving cursor back to Cintiq, TVP is slow to reconnect

Post by BruceM »

I posted this question some days ago. I didn't get any responses so I'm asking again with different wording:
When I move my mouse cursor from the TVPaint interface on my Cintiq to my Mac screen, and then back to my Cintiq, TVPaint is slow to reconnect. The cursor is visible over the TVPaint interface, however, it remains inactive for as much as a minute as I scribble it around the surface. Then it will suddenly connect again. It's not an intermittent issue as it does this every single time I need to move to my computer and then back.

This happened with my old iMac, and is now happening with my new Mac Mini running Sequoia 15.5. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, and more importantly, is there a fix for this?

Thanks for any help!

Hello BruceM, we have already seen a few users who encountered issue with switching from their PC screen back to their tablet or the other way around, but taking a whole minute to become usable again is really something else!
Which Cintiq model and TVPaint version are you using? Is your Wacom driver up to date? Did you create a dedicated TVPaint profile in the driver?

Hi Dean,
Thanks for getting back to me! I'm using a Cintiq 27QHD, and am on TVPaint version 11.7 Pro.
I'm on the latest Wacom driver, but not sure what you mean by "Did you create a dedicated TVPaint profile in the driver"?

In the Pen settings, the drivers offers you to create a special set of settings which will apply only to a particular executable.

Got it. Yes, I have pen driver settings that are just for TVPaint.

So no, the pen driver settings don't appear to be what's causing it
