interface change

My tvp version is 10.5.7 pro.
One week ago, my interface was completely different from the last time I left TVPaint. Nothing was the same. Colors, position of panels. The layer panel all of a sudden corvers both my monitors which is very annoying because things keep appearing behind this panel. No way I can get this panel back to the left monitor where I normally have it positioned.
I tried to set everything like it was before. I saved a configuration but it's not at all behaving like I had it set up before.
Especially when I load a previous project, it appears in the left top corner of the screen not bigger then a post stamp. Every time again I have to readjust the size of my workspace.
It's not the first time something changes overnight.
My daughter who owns tvp 11 has the same issues.

uuuh we'll need to see a few screenshots for this one I think.
Was any change brought to your monitor's setup inbetween your TVPaint sessions?
Also is your daughter using the same computer as you?

No, my daughter is not using my computer. She also uses another OS. W11 on a new laptop. I still work with W7. I used w10 but I don't like it. W7 suites me verry well.

This the printscreen from my 2 monitor setup. In the left top corner there is a little panel with a new project I have loaded. Normally it will load like the second project on the monitor on the right. But also this project I had to enlarge before I could work in it. It loaded like the one in the left top corner. Also the projectpanel is on both monitors as you can see in the edge of the right corner. I had this on the left monitor only and was able to move it or resize it if I needed to. All of a sudden everything changed from one day to the next. Please advice.

Must be me, not visiting this site for a long time. A bit rusty maybe. Can't remember having these issues in the past.
But it's not the answer to the problem I've had lately.
How is it possible that all my settings are completely changed overnight? I stil can't figure out what has happened.
I even reloaded a saved configuration from many years ago but it shows up like the schreenshot I attached.
Everytime again when I startup TVP I have to rearange my setup. Boring.
Can it be a OS thing? I still use W7 because I like it better then the 10 and 11.

Hello Henk, in the "Startup" tab of the TVPaint Preferences panel, what is your "startup configuration" option set to?

It's on: "Remember last used configuration."

If TVPaint goes back to this panel configuration every tim eyou restart it despite having modified them juste before, this could mean that TVPaint does not have sufficient system authorizations to write new data on your computer (such as a setting change in the config.ini configuration file).
After backing up all your custom brushes and shortcuts if needed, could you try setting TVP's startup behavior to "open the startup panel" and then create a new configuration from there and launch TVPaint with it please?
