Stamp brushes show that it is possible for TVPaint to have pressure sensitivity when using the line tool.
I've always been frustrated that the preview can show this being possible but it always applies with every setting maxed out..
I understand that there is already a solution in the guides panel but creating guides and disabling them on the fly for just one line Is simply not an elegant way to quickly do a line and move on.
I think we can have two versions of the line tool, Line and Line Advanced
Much like how we have Stroke, Dot and One point dot
Line: The same line tool we have now with added options, toggles for starting pressure and ending pressure but instead of it being a curve, it reads the pressure of your pen when each of points are created
Line Advanced: draw a line path, then it creates a temporary line segment guideline, you make your stroke with pressure and once you lift your pen, it deletes the guideline

Re: Allow Pressure sensitivity for the line tool
Interesting indeed. In Adobe PSD it is the same thing, hard to put to good use. Temp controls could help setting thicknesses
