TVP 12 is crashing when New Scene is added

Dear Forum,
I have brought my animatic from TVP 11 into TVP 12, and am encountering a lot of crashes. I am posting them separately so they can each be more easily identified (but please let me know, TVP admin, if you want me to post all of these in a single thread.)

This crash occurs when I try to add a new scene to my animatic. The file is under 200 MB, so it is not a heavy project. Video attached. The photo that appears is my desktop photo.

Dear TVP,
The issue is worse than I thought, as I cannot add a new scene or clip to my animatic, and since I've already upgraded to 12, I cannot open TVP 11 anymore. I am in pre-production and I do need to work on my animatic, which includes moving scenes and clips around and adding new ones. If someone has a work around, please let me know. I am limited with what I can do right now and feel stuck!

This appears to be yet another bug with importing projects initially created in TVP 11. I encountered the same crashes when trying to add clips while in Project View. After some testing, it appears that turning off "Play on mouse hover" prevents the crash.

[EDITED for clarity] Camera view must also be turned OFF

Dear Cardin,
Thank you so much for your speedy tests to confirm and help solve these issues! Your investigative spirit is much appreciated! Unfortunately, in this case, unchecking "Play on mouse hover" did not stop the crashing on my end (video attached). My current solution is going to be to use my work laptop which has TVP 11, and ask to reset my PC to 11 as well when they are back in the offices next week. I was going to say I can't work like this, but it is hardly working if the program crashes so often I can't even begin!

No problem. I've got some projects I was planning on working on this weekend so this is something that is affecting me as well.

As for the persistent issue, yes, I also experienced crashing when the option is switched off after the TVP11 project had already been imported.

But I did a slightly different procedure..

What I did was open a new session of TVP12 with just a blank project. Then unselected "play on mouse hover". Closed TVP12. Reopened it and then imported my TVP11 project. With this method, I've been able to add new clips and scenes while in Project View with no crashes🤷🏽‍♂️.
[EDITED for clarity] Camera view must also be turned OFF

Another thing I noticed is that even with the "mouse on hover" option turned on, TVP12 never crashed when I added a clip or seen through the top menu bar; Clip - Add Scene, Clip - New Scene.

So I discovered that to avoid a crash when adding new clips or scenes, in addition to turning off play on hover, Camera View must also be OFF. This is similar to the conditions from the other thread concerning camera moves created in TVP11 (viewtopic.php?t=16487)

Attached is a video showing me adding new clips and scenes to a project originally created in TVP10 [with preexisting camera movements]

Sample project from Lesson 8 in the current Online Manual https://doc.tvpaint.com/tvp11/index.php ... definition). No crashes when adding clips and scenes

THANK YOU, Cardin!
Your most recent steps worked for me, so at least I can get some work done this weekend before we hear about how to avoid these bandaids! I will still be saving and versioning up frequently in anticipation of crashes, but this is very promising. Hope you are able to get your work done this weekend!
