Hello,
I've read that TVPaint supports frame grabbing - for instance for stop motion - and am wondering if there are certain camera requirements, in particular I plan on filming with the Pentax K100D. Will I be able to capture frames from this source?

Hi Emmyymme,
Welcome on the TVPaint forum.

TVP Animation can use all camera recognize by the system (even the webcam). So you should be able to capture frame with this camera.
If you want a better resolution, TVP Animation can grab in HD with some Canon Camera thanks to a plugin.

that's great news! I've very excited to start working with TVPaint.
Is there a resolution limit to capturing frames, outside of the HD mode?

Without the Plug-in for Canon, you can only grab in standard resolution offered by the system (WDM on Microsoft Windows).
With the Plug-in for Canon you can grab in any resolution your camera supports.

that should work... as long as I can capture an image in tvpaint and onionskin in to check the flow of the work, I can always capture a high-resolution version to the camera and compile them later, thanks!
