Usually I have my Start Up Preferences set to open the Start Up Panel. However, recently I wanted to open TVPaint from a pre-set Template or open from Last Configuration Used.
But when I open TVPaint with Last Configuration Used or from a Template it does not remember the settings correctly.

Here is what I do:

Create a New Project. Project with Camera view . 1920 x 1080 x 200% = 3840 x 2160.

It looks like this:

Save As Template and name it 1080x2.


Now when I set my Start Up Preferences to Open From a Template and select this template (1080x2) I would expect TVPaint to open this template next time I start up TVPaint.
OR if I set TVPaint to Remember Last Used Configuration it should open this same set up.

However, when I open TVPaint the next time it opens a project size 3840 x 2160 with the camera view set to 3840 x 2160 , not a camera view of 1920 x 1080.



TVPaint did not open the saved Template. Or if I had it set to Remember Last Used Configuration the same thing happens: it opens a project 3840 x 2160 with the camera value reset to 3840 x 2160 not to 1920 x 1080. So the problem is that TVPaint does not remember the Template or the Last Configuration Used , because the last configuration used had the camera view set to 1920 x 1080 , not 3840 x 2160 .

Indeed, I reproduced it with the 11.0.10 too

Here is another problem with TVPaint not remembering the template dimensions:

I create a New Project with Camera View of 1920 x 1080 , at 200% overscale , so the canvas size is 3840 x 2160 .


Save as a Template named 1920x1080 Camera


Now create a New Project and select my saved Template 1920x1080 Camera:


but instead of creating a new project with my template settings (3840 x 2160 canvas with a 1920 x 1080 camera view) it doubles the dimensions to create a new project with canvas size 7680 x 4320 and a 3840 x 2160 camera view, so it does not remember the camera view and canvas size dimensions of the saved Template.

Fixed

For the record: the problem with the 'Save Project as Template' is not fixed in either version 11.7 or 11.7.1 .

What did get fixed is if you set the Start Up prefs to "Remember last used configuration" or "Template" , it will open up next time with the saved scene template , including the camera parameters. So it must be possible to save a template with the camera parameters, but it doesn't work if you use the Start Up panel and select a saved template from the Templates menu in the Start Up Panel. That is the problem.
