Move Layer on canvas
I have no idea if this is possible but the move tool in Photoshop allows you to check on/off an Auto Select feature. This allows you the ability to select a layer in the canvas without going to the Layer windows. It's great for moving around small parts. Is there a feature in TVPaint that allows you the ability to select an image on the canvas without sorting through the layers? This would be a great feature if it is possible.

Re: Move Layer on canvas
Layer: Pick Layer (assign to any key to your liking)
another way to easily search through your layers is to switch to "display current layer" (shortcut: = ) or RMB on the tiny eye symbol right next to the 'New' pull down in the layerpanel.
this only displays the active layer, then clcicking throught the layers with the up/down arrow keys you see exactly what is on them.
