When I go to 'help>tvpaint animation help' I get a pdf document that redirects me to download the manual. Is there any way to reassign the 'help>tvpaint animation help' shortcut to point to the new downloaded manual?

absolutely nothing.

weird ... haven't you the manual.pdf file in the Data folder ?

ah. I had it there. but it didn't work still. And then I rewrote over the file again, and then it worked. so it's fine now. probably I cancelled an overwrite request...
it's probably signs of getting older....
