Sound not exporting

We've been experiencing major issues with sound not exporting properly.
On mac we cannot get them to export at all it seems.
On Windows they export very crunchy when we have the sound tracks on the main project timeline. When we split them into each timeline, it exports but still drops audio here and there for no reason.
