Could there be a future for TVPaint iPad ?
Could there be a future for TVPaint iPad ?
I know, I know. This topic has been brought up in the forums a number of times, and the TVPaint crew has answered it a number of times. The only reason I bring it up again is because of this.

That's fully fledged port of a really popular drawing software to the iPad Pro. I think this is one of the first times something like this has happened without the app needing to be redesigned somehow.
However, I can understand the apprehension. TVPaint has mentioned that they wouldn't be able to do something like this because of the limitations that come with the operation system, and even Clip Studio has some issues. It doesn't have the best file system and it has a (*gulp*) 8$ a month subscription fee.
I suppose the whole thing makes me a bit jealous. I've seen artists make illustrations on the iPad the same way they do in Photoshop, but I've yet to see an app that can bring an animation to the same kind of completion on an iPad the same way that you can in TVPaint or even ToonBoom. I suppose 2D animation is just too much of a niche. Maybe someday.

And you're right to ask the question again, for we have new plans regarding an iOS version. There are lots of work to adapt TVPaint on iOS, but when we see the success of the Open Android (released for free since Christmas), it's very encouraging to adapt TVPaint on Apple's products

Hey everyone! Any progress with the TVPaint for iPad Pro project? Is there a timeline or is it cancelled?
I'm considering buying an iPad Pro only if this might be an option. I'm working with TVPaint 11 on Mac now, but would love to switch to a mobile option..
