Hi all!
I took the plunge and bought TVP Animation. Very happy with it so far. Thanks Nicolas and Patrice for everything they did to help me with this purchase!!
Quick question, the Red pencil in the Sketch panel is actually orange. Is there any way I can permanently change the color of the pencil to a more Reddish color?
I'm still getting the basics of the interface down. Yeah, I'm a noob with TVPA. Any help appreciated!
I'm using an Intel Mac with OS X 10.4.9.
Thanks!

Hi Mike,
Welcome here!
i'm not the guy that can help you customize your sketch panel...
i'm just speculating that changing the color might influence its working because the orange color is exactly complementary to the blue so the choice for this orange might have to do with that.
but then this probably only matters if you use both colors in the same drawing.
i often use a red line on a seperate layer...this solves the whole issue

no problem, you can use pure blue (0,0,255) or pure red (255,0,0).

Re: The Red Pencil in the Sketch Panel
Thanks for the response, but I realized that I could save the tool and the A color uisng the button in the Tool Bin. As Homer would say, "D'oh!"Hervé wrote:Hi Mike,

This way the Sketch panel is unchanged, but I can expand the Colors I use for roughs and such by saving the pencil in the Tool Bin.
Thanks for the replies!

yes, but if you change the orange pencil into a red one, (colorA=255 0 0),Hervé wrote:Hi Mike,

you also have to change 5 other buttons to replace all the other "orange" buttons of the Sketch Panel ...
(at least the "tint Red" and "all Red" buttons)
in attached file, a "Blue&Red" version of the default Sketch Panel.

Thanks everyone!
ZigOtto: I downloaded the SPblue&red.zip. How do I install it on my Mac OS X10.4.9? Is there a page in the UG about installing pencils and such. I'm still getting a handle on the interface, which is a bit different from the Painter, Manga Studio and Flash interfaces I'm used to. In any case, thanks so much for the effort you made in getting those pencils to me!
Tantalus: Your observation about the complementary relationship between the blue and orange pencil is what I concluded.
This is one of the nicest forums I've been priviliged to belong to!

How to Import/Install a new Custom Panel on my Mac ?
sorry, I don't have a Mac, although, I hope it could be nearly the same process as on PC:cartoonM!ke wrote:... How do I install it on my Mac OS X10.4.9? Is there a page in the UG about installing pencils and such...
first, uncompress the zip file, you should get a .bin file, and a .data folder,
then, in TVPaint, Right-Click (or Mac-equivalent) the Custom-Panel icon (see pict. below),
and choose "Load a New ToolBar" in the popup menu, browse and select the .bin file, "OK",
the new panel should appear on your screen,
if the way to install a CP is quite different on Mac, please, wait for a mac-user specific answer,
and yes, this kind of informations should be documented in the FAQ section, as Tantalus would say :
