Import off canvas image from Photoshop psd

When importing a photoshop file, currently any parts of the image that are off the canvas are cropped. It would be nice to import those parts instead of having to resize the image to accommodate. This is helpful for background assets that you might pan across the screen while not moving the main background, like clouds panning across.

Hello ! Welcome to our forums.
Sadly, this is not possible right now, for TVPaint cannot manage layers outside the drawing space. That's something we plan to change, but it won't be available before a few years.

But maybe the TVPaint workspace could have the size of the uncropped image, instead of the cropped one. If it's possible to read out how big the image is outside of the working space.

and then automaticly set a camera with the dimensions of the cropped Ps image dimensions... interesting thought.
though it could turn out hazardous, do you know what the limits are regarding these hidden dimensions within Pshop? ending up with a 10k+ sized tvpaint doc aint no joy.

I never hit any limit in PS, so I estimate it must be pretty high. But you could catch this with a dialogue window, asking something like "the resulting project file will be 10.000 x 10.000 px large, do you really want to continue?"
Funny thing is that even PS doesn't offer the option to fit the canvas to everything the file contains.
