how to save custom 3 Pts Spline tool?

Hello,
I would like to create two buttons in a custom panel.
One for a regular stroke pen tool and another for a 3 Pts Spline pen tool. I cannot figure out how to do that. The button only saves the pen tool characteristics but does not differentiate between "stroke" and "3 pts spline"
Is it possible to have two different buttons for that?

Create one stroke button with "grab current tool". Select this button and go to edit. Select a command before the end, select "Insert Command". Set this command to "Stroke > 3 point spline". Save, enjoy.

Hi! I'm trying this technique now and can't seem to get it to work. I'm grabbing the current freehand drawing tool and then editing, inserting a command, and typing the custom command as shown above, but still only get the Freehand stroke. I'll try posting a screen grab of what I'm doing. Thank you!

You should not insert the line as a "Command". Remove that line.
Instead, insert a "key" by selecting Set KeyStroke, then choose "Shape:Spline 3Pts".
Then save.
This should now use whatever tool is set by line 0 and let you draw that as a 3 point spline line.
