how to save custom 3 Pts Spline tool?

Hello,

I would like to create two buttons in a custom panel.
One for a regular stroke pen tool and another for a 3 Pts Spline pen tool. I cannot figure out how to do that. The button only saves the pen tool characteristics but does not differentiate between "stroke" and "3 pts spline" :|

Is it possible to have two different buttons for that?

Create one stroke button with "grab current tool". Select this button and go to edit. Select a command before the end, select "Insert Command". Set this command to "Stroke > 3 point spline". Save, enjoy.

Hi! I'm trying this technique now and can't seem to get it to work. I'm grabbing the current freehand drawing tool and then editing, inserting a command, and typing the custom command as shown above, but still only get the Freehand stroke. I'll try posting a screen grab of what I'm doing. Thank you!

You should not insert the line as a "Command". Remove that line.
Instead, insert a "key" by selecting Set KeyStroke, then choose "Shape:Spline 3Pts".
Then save.

This should now use whatever tool is set by line 0 and let you draw that as a 3 point spline line.
