auto save thoughts

I love that TVPaint has an auto save option. I have a suggestion for adding a preference which would allow us to customize the way files are saved a bit more. Currently if I set MultiBackup to 5 for example and I create a project with the name A I will eventually get 5 auto saved files with the name A plus a 6 digit number at the end. If I later start working on another project and call it B, I will retain the last 5 auto saved files of A while 5 new auto save files of B are created. By the way I created a folder that I call AutoSave for my auto save files. As I create more projects the number of auto save files grows, 5 for each new project.
In addition I always save my project manually of course. The auto save directory I only want as backup in case of a crash. If it auto saves every 10 minutes I have the last 50 minutes archived.
I don't like that the number of files in my auto save directory grows. I would like to be able to just have the last 5 (or whatever number I choose) auto saved files.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

You can choose to Auto-Save in the Save Alarm settings. If you turn the time to 10 minutes and activate Multi-Backup and set it to 5 versions, you get a copy every 10 minutes for the last 50 minutes.

I think what Bluecarrot is asking is a feature that automatically delete auto backup file from previous projects. If so, that is totally impossible (and it would be terribly risky !)

Oh I misunderstood that. I use a directory for all multi-backup-files, so I keep track of them and can delete a bunch of them at once.

I also think that's the best way to proceed.
