Hello again,

I have new request:
It would be very handy if you could move your timeline when you have selected some frames, without deselecting the frames. Now it deselects the frames automatically, so you are not able to check if the selected frames are the right ones.
(and something else: maybe shift-select extra frames if?)

Another thing: sometimes when I have two frames and I want to move the right frame with the transform tool (or sometimes it also happens with other tools), the light table doesn't update immediately (so I don't see what's in the left frame, but I still see the image from the frame left to the left frame). then I first have to move a frame to the left and then to the right or switch my light table on and off to see the changes in the light table.

And the last request, but I'm not sure everybody will agree with this: When I move the layer I'm working in, the timeline cursor moves. I don't like that. Could it maybe be an option to keep the timeline cursor on the same spot while moving the layer I'm working in? Or is it already an option?

Hello Joost =)
Joost wrote:It would be very handy if you could move your timeline when you have selected some frames, without deselecting the frames.
I don't have such problem here : when I move my timeline, I keep selections.
Did you mean "when I move IN the timeline" ?

Okay, so yes, you were talking about moving within the timeline.
Hmm, that can be complicated, but I must admit, it would be useful.

We had a similar problem, but normally it has been corrected in TVPaint 10.0.3.
I cannot reproduce the bug... would you have an example ? Maybe I misunderstood you !

I completely agree with you here. :D

when I have two frames
If you change something in the right part of an exposure, the instance must be broken first before the lighttable could detect the instance's head as a frame being different from the actual frame. Usually I switch to brush and tip in the frame with the eraser, then go back to transform.

Sometimes when I break the instance, and then use the erase lasso tool to change the image i've drawn, the light table doesn't show the right image. It still shows the previous image (I use tvpaint 10.0.3.). But I can't reproduce it everytime. I think 60 percent of the time it works fine...

I just now noticed this:
-I would like to have the possibility to zoom in further into the timeline. Now I can't really see what I drew in each frames.
I don't see much sense in that because you can easily click there and see the frame full screen. The new marker features (v10) also should help.
I have often wished for this myself and was getting ready to ask for it too. There is a difference between clicking on a frame to see the image in the project window, which is that one could quickly select the frame just by glancing at the timeline rather than hunting for it frame by frame. It means you can "scrub" with your eyeballs instead of your mouse. Also I like to have a perspective of how a certain drawing fits with the layers directly above and below before I decide which image I will click on to redraw.

According to our discussion in Trumpatrick's opinion topic, I checked this topic and noted what should we add in our to do list.
-If you select several layers and move them above or beneath other layers, your layers are automatically deselected. It is really hard to find your selected layers back (especially when the layers have the same layer color). So my request is: keep the layers selected until you deselect them yourself.
Looks like being fixed (tell me if I'm wrong)
I would like to have the possibility to zoom in further into the timeline. Now I can't really see what I drew in each frames.
In the to do list yet
-When I move trough the timeline using the alt button (very handy), the scroll bar (with the 'Z' button on top of it) wont go to the bottom of the screen. There are always two millimeters left. then I have to use this scroll bar to go to the bottom of the screen. why is this?
Looks like being fixed (tell me if I'm wrong)
-I would like to be able to see my brush size when I'm using my brush. Most of the times I use the cross cursor, but sometimes it would be handy to see how big your brush is, when you are painting.
Hard to find a solution, as explained here : http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php? ... 865#p46865" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
-The transform tool has a panning x and panning y function, but you have to apply your action every time you use it (why?). So I use the panning tool instead, but there is no panning x and panning y function for this tool, so it is impossible to move a drawing with this tool to the exact right spot.
Explanation given in that thread yet.
It would also be nice to move the anchor point of an object so you won't have to rotate your object from the center.
Just added in our to do list.
f you reset the transform tool, it automatically switches the AAliasing to medium. I can't imagine that this is useful for anybody. So when you reset your transform tool, the AAliasing should stay the way it was.
In the to do list yet.
If you merge layers, it would be handy if you keep the color and name of the layer on top (like photoshop)
More or less fixed : if you are using same color group : now color group stay the same.
Anyway, the name disappears and if you have 2 different color groups = default grey color. => Just added in our to do list.
-It would be nice to have the opportunity to select frames from different layers. Maybe select multiple frames the way you can select multiple folders on the desktop of your computer.
We consider your request with some other ones related.
-Why does tvpaint automatically open a project that is called "untitled 1"
To allow people to draw something immediately.
Anyway, I just added the request "close Untitled project if you open then a TVPaint project and if this Untitled project was not used".
Layer groups in folders, not the color method tvpaint is using now. I won't make use of groups in tvpaint how it is organized now. And the use of groups was one of the reasons for my tvpaint 10 purchase...
We consider your request with some other ones related.
-With the transform tool you can only scale both axes at the same time. It is called the transform tool, so why not scale the x axe separate from the y axe?
Actually, Warp tool allows you to do so.
But maybe yes, we could propose an option where you can lock or not Y and X axes.
-When opening a new document remember the size of a previous opened project window.
Currently, TVPaint does remember the parameters of your last created project.
What exactly would you like ?

Ok, that makes sense.

Question that I need you to answer :

Imagine you have 6 layers :
1
2
3
4
5
6

---

I decide to merge layer 1, 3 and 6
Layers 1, 3 and 6 become layer 1 => ok.

But, there is a question : where should be placed layer 1 ?

Like this :

1
2
4
5

or :

2
4
5
1

?

At the moment, when you merge layers, there are placed at the bottom.
But if we take here the name and the color group of the top layer, the merge layers should be placed at the top as well. What's your opinion ?

I'd vote for top, mostly because Photoshop works that way and I'm used to it.

Yeah, I think top would seem logical.

You could split the merge option into a merge-up and merge-down. But I think I'd mostly use merge-up.
