I'm guessing that that was an important request from one of the feature film studios working with TVP?
Probably, but you'd expect especially large productions to have their file management in order.
As for sharing panels. It would be nice to have all panels available to the entire studio without having to send/accept them. So when a tool or script is added/changed every machine would automatically have it too. But I havent seen the sharing system in its full glory yet so I should probably wait with my (off-topic) criticism.

That's something really complex if you want it to be done right.
You need authentication, encryption, etc... to be useful in the "real world" where industrial spying is everywhere.

Yeah, that goes without saying! Will the sharing work over a VPN, perhaps?

It works on the "local" network, i.e. all the computers have to be on the same subnet.
So, it should work on a VPN *if* the VPN is configured that way.
