I was just wondering about the objective of the reference and how successful it is at achieving it. Not many people would comprehend it as a reference. Their reaction would most likely regard the coloring of the hands. The first season of The Simpsons was not the refined characters people are used to. (Probably not a good example because there have been many die hard Simpson trivia fans). But to use the crude drawing style in this context may illustrate my point. Maybe not.
