I see you have customized your color interface Malcooning. I think it could be great to share it since now it is possible to export and import interface colors config. I have created a topic to do that.

yeah. I'm enjoying this new interface-playground!
yet I'm not sure I have reached a good balance of colours yet. for example, is it possible to change the colour of the white half of the squares next to the brush properties ('jitter', 'size' etc.)?

Are you speaking about the profile preview for stylus connection? It is the Gadget Drag.
For the background of the text it is Gadget Text Background

don't know if i'm doing anything wrong but when i choose some different brushes like the watercolor ones then go back to a solid black brush.

i don't get a solid black brush. sometimes the brush looks light grey even though the color is 100% black. connection set to "none" sometimes it paints a texture background within the line.

it is very strange. again this is after selecting some of the custom brushes in the sketch bar. then choosing the brush icon in the main panel. i have to experiment many many times before getting back to a simple black brush.

what could i be doing wrong?

Some custom brushes in the Tool Bin panel are using paper. So when switching to an other brush the paper is already ON. Switch it off and you brush will be like you want.
