Help needed with exporting a movie

Post by JQuinn »

Ive just animated my first scene in TVP and everything has gone surprisingly well and glitch free - however now I'm trying to export I'm having a few problems. The movies I've made ( almost all formats) come out black apart from some frame numbers that I drew on to the layer I'm trying to export (!) and the sound. I've looked for advice online and here in the forum but can't find anything. All my layers are switched on. I've got TVP 11 the professional version.*GLUM*

Hi Jo,
Do you have "Background" checked in your 'Export Footage Window'?

Hi Jo!
Yep, you need a background layer or to click that box. I was confused for a while when I tried to export at first but then it was a forehead slap to myself when I realised.

You're welcome, Jo.
You'll most likely run into more issues so don't hesitate to ask advice. Either here or from other colleagues using the software. After a while it will all start to make some (sort of) sense, I predict.

Loved your demonstration on FB, btw!

Thanks for all your kind words about my first fumblings with TVpaint! I am having fun though. Elodie I haven't come across the flip panel! It sounds like exactly the thing I'm missing! I'll have a play tomorrow! Goodnight my new TVP chums :)

Hello "slowtiger" thanks for the lovely welcome. Glad I can help out with your lectures!

Is there anything more about the flip panel? I can see in the link how to activate it which I've done but nothing has really happened! Are there any video examples or a tutorial of what it does?- I couldn't find any.

Thx Joanna
