Hi, sorry if I have more very simple questions! I am still learning this software. With this question, I merely would like to know WHY TVPaint acts the way it does. With the FX sheet, for example, it took me quite some time to figure out that I had to specifically SELECT the images/frames that I wanted to keyframe "position" and "size." In that one can add the keyframes and see the effects without actually SELECTING images/frames, what is the advantage to having to SELECT the images/frames in order to apply the FX?

That's the reason why you have to select the frames and have to apply your FX-Stack.
nb : If you use the apply FX button without selecting several frames, your stack will only be applied on the current frame.
When you set your parameters in the FX-Stack, you are in preview mode. (the preview box should be checked) As a consequence, the frames of your layer stay unchanged.what is the advantage to having to SELECT the images/frames in order to apply the FX?
That's the reason why you have to select the frames and have to apply your FX-Stack.

good question, and you're right, mostly, when we hit "apply FX-Stack" button,
our intention is to apply on all the keyed frames,
that said, in some particular cases, some users want to apply only a part of the frames, or even only one frame,
so the way it works now forces the user to define/set the range of frames to be affected,
if no selection, only the current frame will be applied.
if you think tedious to have always to define your selection first, you can make a special custom button to fit your wish :
I can imagine 2 versions as alternative [FX-Apply] button :
- select ALL + Apply ... which will process all the frames of the current layer
- select from keys + Apply ... which will process only the keyed frames (current FX) of the current layer.
the second one (see attached CP .zip file) is recommended when a single active FX in the stack.

Unzip the file ...
Then launch the software, RMB on the Custom Panel's icon, and choose "Load a New Toolbar" from the popup menu.
Browse into your system in order to select the .bin file, then press OK.

Hello. Could someone tell me how I can select a range of Keyframes? I want to apply a Fade Effect via FX Stack but I dont find how to make a range selection in the timeline. Thanks!
